When working I split my time between slowly proceeding forms of textiles and by doing quicker techniques like collage and painting. The last two years I’ve painted more than ever before but have still so far always returned to my expressions of textile. That is a pile rug technique that I do on bulging figures or winded linen yarn on strings of cloth.
I am much influenced by the atmosphere around me and I find symbols for the things I want to express everywhere; in the media, in technical details, house wall patterns, encyclopedias and in natural sceneries.
During a year and a half I spent my time living on the country side of northern Sweden. I had the wilderness of nature right outside my door and strongly felt the changes of season. To be in the middle of nowhere gave me somewhat of an injection of creativity. That experience left me with a better perspective on most things. Now being back in Stockholm I use my vision on both city and country life through my art.
All through my working life I’ve been a part of numerous exhibitions and have also opened my private studio for the public, both in Stockholm and in Västerbotten, northern Sweden.
